Salzgitter Fluidized Bed ARP: Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH is one of Germany's largest Steel Makers. In 2006 Salzgitter entrusted SMS Siemag with the supply of a fluidised bed hydrochloric acid regeneration plant. The plant operates alongside a continuous pickling line which descales approximately 2.500.000 tons of steel per year and generates a waste acid volume of roughly 12 cubic meters per hour.
The plant is equipped with state of the art exhaust gas cleaning equipment which ensures strict compliance with German 'TA Luft' standards for HCl, Cl2 and particle emissions.
It was supplied 'turn key': SMS Siemag not only engineered, delivered and commissioned the process equipment but acted as a general contractor for buildings, structures and erection.
